Neringa Paulauskyte

Spending my childhood in the Lithuanian countryside,I was constantly exposed to images of nature such as vast fields covered in daffodils, emerald forests blanketed with the essence of pine and cerulean lakes.  Submerging myself in this atmosphere at a young age allowed me to appreciate the world in a colourful pallet of unique natural hues.
When moving to England I was presented with a new urban outlook to enjoy.  I have been  lucky enough to be able to travel the world and see different cultures in places like Africa and Asia.  I use this love for traveling in creating ideas and aspects in my art.
As a plein-air painter the most I remember from any location is a play of light and shadows.  It is my inspiration.  Through my art work I try to capture a moment.  The playful tones in spring, the combinations of colours in summer and early autumn seem to invite to look at the simple, but at the same time mysterious world of land, trees, lakes, sea, to feel a part of that world.
Only the moment that was expanded from the flow of life reminds us to slow down and reconnect with nature and its unique beauty!
