Michaela Suleman

As a horse lover, living in Epsom has enabled me to combine my passion for art with the love of horses. I enjoy going up to Epsom Downs taking photos of racehorses that train there every morning. Or, having a peak at all the well-groomed horses and stunning jockeys’ silks during Epsom Derby, especially on a sunny day when all the beautiful colours create such a vibrant display of pinks, purples, blues, reds and greens, not just on the jokey silks but also the coats of their racehorses. In my paintings, I try to portray all these vibrant colours, motion and energy that comes from those powerful and beautiful creatures. As well as working on commissions, I create my own equestrian art combining the classical with contemporary.

Having studied animal and human anatomy, my passion extends to painting not just horses but also people and other animals. Aside from my technical skills though, is my strong creativity and individual style which has led to my work featuring in exhibitions. As a member of the Society of Equestrian Artist my work has been selected for their annual exhibition and I also exhibit through the Tadworth Art Group exhibitions.
