Caroline Webster

My passion for painting and colour goes back to my childhood. With the exception of a few evening classes, I am largely self-taught, relying on inspiration drawn from walking the mountains of Snowdonia, the wild coastline of Brittany or the dense forests of the Ardennes in northern France and later, our years lived abroad. The arrival of our three children saw my art material relegated to the attic for the best part of 25 years but now my newly-found freedom has allowed me to pick up where I left off.  I love working in oil, often with a palette knife to create bold shapes and colours.  More recently I have tried chalk pastels for dog portraits finding that the layering and blending offer both depth and texture.  I look forward to working with all the members of Tadworth Art Group and drawing inspiration from their wide experience and talent.
